When you devote a lot of focus and attention to a specific activity (or something), repeatedly (for days & hours every day); it will start to pattern your thoughts and dreams.
If you play the ‘Tetris game’ for a longer time (with dedicated focus) your brain will be able to find different solution faster to pack different objects in smaller spaces (at your home or office or where-ever).
You brain picks up some skill or some form of thinking pattern when you’re exposed to something for a prolonged time.
This prolonged time of exposure is necessary to break consciousness barrier and to reach the subconscious—where the patterning change happens.
We can make it quicker.
That is when your subconscious is susceptible to this impregnentation of new patterns.
There’s two state or stage of mind when it is vulnerable to this effect most.
hypnopompic state of mind. -from asleep to waking up
hypnagogic state of mind - from awaken to falling asleep
In short, the ‘time’ after you immediately wake up or a minute before you falling asleep.
This is the most crucial time to reprogram your thinking pattern.
It will be most effective and easy than compared with any other form of modifications.
If you want to be a positive person, then write some positive things in your diary just few seconds before you asleep.
If you want a breakthrough in your research, read the critical questions of your research few times just before fall to sleep.
If you want to be happy all day, just find more reasons to be happy from the moment you awake.
Even your dreams will be filled with scenes you created during these state of mind.
There’s plenty of evidence around the (psychology) science regime for this.
You’ll get anything you think about just before you fall asleep and immediately after you wake up. Because your, thoughts, mind, body everything will be conditioned to get to it.
I recommend you to write few words just before falling asleep. Few positive words like love, wealth, perfect health, improving health, etc. Write something what you want.
I personally found the above method effective — and it is easy for you to adopt.
It is better to keep a pen and a notebook at your bed.
Another method is to have a goal board (usually called as ‘vision board’) at the wall where you see immediately after waking up.
I personally failed to see it everyday. It is a conscious decision to look it, which I easily forget. And — I don’t wake in the usual context everyday to follow it as I intended.
Beware of long-time monotonous works.
Beware of toxic people who constantly bugs you.
Beware of anything you give attention to regularly —in high frequency.
They’all have the power to imprint your mind with new things —by that, they can change your thinking pattern.
